21 Jul Amazing Eco Home
When I first saw this house, I really thought it was an artists impression. The crazy design of several petals embedded in a hilly landscape seemed too surreal to be true.
However, this low impact house really does exist. The beautiful flower shaped 8,000 square foot Bolton Eco House has been built into the landscape of the West Pennine Moors, to preserve the natural beauty of the area. The four-bedroom, single-storey house includes photovoltaic panels, a ground source heat pump, and a large wind turbine, all to utilize renewable energy sources. In fact, the Eco House claims to have been designed to consume less than it generates.
Make Architects designed this ecologically-minded home in close collaboration CABE, the local Bolton Council, and the home’s owner, Manchester United star Gary Neville.
Our design envisions this ‘house of the future’ as the first zero-carbon property in the North West of England.
