Sweat Shop

Sweat Shop

Not the first of it’s kind, but alas a great concept, Sweat Shop Paris is alikened to an internet cafe, sewing machines in place of the usual 10 or so pc’s available for hire by the hour.
Parisian customers can drop in for a cup of nice herbal tea, whilst reconnecting to the hands-on feel of making garments from scratch. The ladies that run “Sweatshop” also hold regular classes, enabling folks to learn the craft of sewing and knitting.
I love that a dying trade is being re-born in places such as this. You can find a similar concept store in Melbourne at the aptly named “Thread Den“.
