Haus of Eco

Haus of Eco

Haus Of Eco is a small online business offering eco friendly textiles to the fashion conscientious.

As a rule, the online store only trades textiles from organically/eco friendly certified manufacturers who share their ethos. They place great emphasis on promoting sustainability and do utilise the concept of recycling where ever they can.

All of the Haus of Eco suppliers are genuinely certified by eco governing bodies such as Gots, Fair Trade, OEKO-TEX Standard 100 , Fair Trade and so on.

If you’ve ever seen these certifications, but are not sure what they mean, There is a fantastic explaination on the Haus of Eco website, in which we have referenced below:

Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTs)

The Global  Organic Textile Standard is ‘recognised as the world”s processing standards for textiles made from organic fibres. It defines high-level environmental criteria along the entire organic textiles supply chain and requires compliance with social critiria as well”

OEKO-TEX Standard 100

Carrys out ‘independent testing for harmful substances for textile products of all types which pose no risk whatsoever to health since 1992’

Fair Trade

Fair Trade ‘maintain very strong and clear environmental standards based on the international recommendation of the United Nations environmental programme such as the strict control of chemicals and reductions in pestisides which can harm the environment and farmers’. Fair Trade is also about ‘better prices, decent working conditions, and fair terms for farmers’
