Kawi – Organic crossbody backpacks

Chihuahua, Chihuahua, October, 12, 2015 – New Startup Kawí announced today that it is raising funds via a rewards crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter to finish the development of their innovative original design. The company set out to raise $25,000 in order to open a shop.

As a product designer, Mauricio Uranga had an idea that would have a positive impact on the world. That idea has now evolved into a 5 people startup in which you can contribute to create a profitable company. “We want to create products from natural materials that not only offer high quality style and value to a consumer but that also preserve the world around us,” said the founders.

One feature that is hard to ignore, is the materials they chose to make it with. The fabric is GOTS organic certified cotton and the accessories are made from coconut shell. This makes the backpack very durable but also biodegradable. They even have a video comparing how fast it biodegrades versus a standard backpack.

Their first product is a backpack that is made with organic, compostable, vegan materials without the addition of chemicals that harm our environment. It is ergonomically designed, which you will notice as soon as you put it on. The inspiration behind this backpack is the Tarahumara culture, which are the native people from their state.
