12 Jun Kowtow – The Silent Space Part 1
How much do we love Kowtow? Ummmm, just a bit. Just a bit to the point that they are in our top 5 fav labels. And not to mention they are from New Zealand. One of my fav countries. But that’s enough about me. Let’s talk about them.
Kowtow’s upcoming and 12th collection named ‘The Silent Space’ is all about the beauty of simplicity. Inspired by the work of Japanese architect Tadao Ando, minimalist concrete interiors and large open area’s emphasising nothingness lead to Kowtow’s design ideas of bringing peace, zen and calmness into the madness of the fashion world.
With key colours of soft summery bone, lemon and light grey, and an original print called the “reflection print” (to emphasise Tadao Ando’s creative use of natural light), the new collection reminds me of seeing beauty in nature (think lemon yellow soft flower in the sunlight) amongst the sometimes greyness (think hard concrete wall in the rain) of modern life.
Tailored shapes and luxury basics are constructed on the labels signature organic cotton building blocks with the use of GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) dyes, and of course an ethical manufacturing process.
The Silent Space drops in-store August 2013 to over 60 top boutiques across New Zealand, Australia, the United States, Sweden and Mexico.

I’m still yet to see one of their items in person, but I just love the designs. They are amazing!
