10 Jun Wabi Sabi
In 2010, Michele Cohen left her full time job as a fashion manager in a large company, to open her first small scale eco fashion concept store.
Today, Wabi Sabi has a headquarter in Seville, Spain and also Atlantic City in New Jersey. While the concept took off, Michele’s vision and exquisite taste grabbed the attention of consumers from around the world.
Denoting in her ethos “we are not hippies”, Michele promotes versatile design, perfect to accompany you throughout the day. Garments are designed to have a long life, and get better with age (a complete flip from the fast fashion garments that tend to last an average of 3 months).
We are not hippies, so why do we love green fashion? The fashion industry uses toxic chemicals and harmful substances derived from oil to manufacture, dye, finish and make garments and accessories we use everyday. Not only can we find traces of these harmful chemicals in products we buy, but we also find that these products contaminate the food we eat and the water we drink, causing major public health problems.
The store in Seville has become so popular that the New York Times says that visiting the store is a must on any trip to Seville.
Eat Tapas. Sightsee at the Cathedral. Take a walk through the old city. Visit the Jewish Quarter. Shop at Wabi Sabi.
We can’t wait to visit.
